F.G.S. operates three melting departments which are equipped with the most modern electric induction furnaces, ranging from 300 to 11000 lbs (150 to 5000 kg) capacity.

     Molding is made by:

  • no-bake

  • shell

  • green sand

  • ceramic

Centrifugal casting is made on 4 horizontal machines, producing tubes from 3" to 40" O.D. (76 to 1400 mm), with lengths up to 158" (4000 mm), and a maximum unitary weight of 4400 lbs (2000 Kg). A special technology, applied at F.G.S., also allows for the production of extra thin centrifugally cast tubes (4 mm).

Heat treating facilities are on hand for:

  • annealing

  • normalizing

  • quenching

  • tempering

up to a maximum treatment temperature of 2300°F (1250°C).

Complete pattern making facilities for wooden, or metallic patterns and for shell-molding equipment are directly operated by F.G.S.
